God is the beginning of all great things in this church by calling
Pastor Wirachai to plant a church in a neighbourhood in Soi Ya-sub 1,
Ekamai Road in 1976. The church started with a group of 10
and grew to 150 by 1980. By the grace of God, the rate of growth
was considered phenomenal during those days!

As the number of members grew bigger, there was a need
to look for a larger premise. Despite having only USD500 (Baht 20,000)
in cash, God led the church to a piece of land in Soi Romyen,
Pattanakarn Road, which is about 0.6 acre (600 sq. wah) in size.
The land purchase and cost of building construction was budgeted
to be USD400,000 (Baht 16m).

God is good and He never fails! Two years later, the building was completed.
On April 11, 1982,the church ,which was named
Bangkok Evangelistic Centre (“ Romyen Church” in Thai),
began her first worship session. Currently,
the church has a membership of 520.

Over time, the Church has developed a comprehensive programme
for mission. In July 2003,the Church made a decision to construct the
“Romyen Mission Centre”, a building from
where all mission activities of the Church are directed.
The mission activities are evangelism; training programme; seminary,
an education centre for neighbourhood; development of social works
with children who are less fortunate and the underprivileged.

Underpinned by strong support from church members
as well as other quarters of the Christian communities,
the church’s mission programme has progressed
tremendously in form and in substance.
